Milena Govich

Milena Govich, director as well as an actor and musician has directed many episodes on TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) as well as other. She was also co-producer and Co-EP on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently a part of two pilots that are in production. Milena was one of the eight women selected for AFI’s prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. She also participated in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Unspeakable was her TV show as well as a short film. The show starred Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort, it won the award for Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival as well as the Best Pilot award at SoHo International Film Festival. The short film Temporary (2017 written by Milena Vandervoort) has been screened across the United States. It was awarded the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given out at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has been an actor in more than 100 television series. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Also, she was a part of the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006), which led to her role as the first and only female detective on the Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or had her in. Milena also appeared in several movies like Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She was also in the film with Method Man. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian in her high school prior to completing two majors in vocal performance and pre-med with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma, also graduating valedictorian. Then, she used her classical ballet training to take part in a show on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
