Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer with Irish descent, was a well-known figure. The fiery, passionate characters she appeared in range of American films were well-loved by the green-eyed beauty with fiery hair and flaming eyes. Her natural beauty and glamorous appearance was well-loved and she was referred to as the "Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. The characters she played on screen reflected her strong, courageous spirit that fought for respect and survival in the male-dominated world. She referred to herself as "the tough Irish woman" and she did not give up her respect for others in order to be able to play the roles she was entitled to through merit. She stood up to injustices and unfair treatment of women actors throughout her film career, and gained lots of fans. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", released in 2004, provided an unflinching account of her entire life including her struggles in her climb to success. She was an adventurous woman who was never afraid to perform herself at her own tricks. She appeared in more than 60 films and was the recipient of a fair amount of international fame. Moving on from Parra her second marriage, she got married in 1968 with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former brigadier, former chief pilot, and a pioneer in transatlantic aviation, to name some of the accomplishments. In the early years of their marriage, she decided to finally end her retirement. Blair died tragically during an airplane crash in 1978, ending her joy. In the same year, she was also diagnosed as suffering from uterine cancer and required to undergo an immediate operation. She was successful in recovering. She suffered from six heart attacks, a short-term memory loss and type 2 diabetes over the next years. On October 24, 2015 O'Hara died peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95.
