Roselyn Sanchez Bio

Roselyn Milagros Sanchez Rodriguez (born on April 2 1973) is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter, dancer and model, as well as actress, producer and writer. On television, she is most well-known for her role as Elena Delgado on the CBS police procedural Without a Trace (2005-09), and as Carmen Luna on the Lifetime comedy-drama Devious Maids (2013-16). In film, Sanchez has appeared in Rush Hour 2 (2001), Boat Trip (2002), The Game Plan (2007) as well as Act of Valor (2012). Sanchez is the youngest of four siblings. She was born in San Juan (Puerto Rico) and has three brothers older than her. She received her primary education in San Juan. She was a keen dancer and actor from a young age and performed shows with her family. Sanchez enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico, in which, like her brothers and father, she was to study marketing. After three years, she left the course. Sanchez was then 18 and moved to New York City in 1991. She attended classes in singing, acting and dancing. She returned to Puerto Rico, and in 1992 she made her movie debut, having landed in a small role as an island girl in the movie Captain Ron, which was partly filmed in Puerto Rico. Sanchez was a dancer from Puerto Rico and co-host of Que Vacilon which is a variety program. In 1993, Sanchez won Miss Puerto Rico Petite. In 1994, she was awarded Miss American Petite. This led to her being recognized internationally. Sanchez was featured on many annual lists of gorgeous women including Maxim Magazine's "Hot 100" in 2001, 2002 and 2006; AskMen.com's "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" in 2005 and 2006; as well as FHM's "100 Sexiest Women" in 2005 and 2006.
