Alexa Davalos Dunas (born May 28 1982) is an American actress. Gwen Raiden was her first part on the TV series Angel (2002-03). This part was followed by a variety of Hollywood films including Feast of Love (2007) and Feast of Love (2008). She has also appeared on the show Reunion (2005-06) and also in Frank Darabont's Mob City (2013). She played Juliana Crain, the main character in the Amazon Studios series The Man in the High Castle (2015-2019). Davalos was born in France to American parents, photographer Jeff Dunas and actress Elyssa Davalos who is the daughter of actor Richard Davalos. Davalos spent her childhood in France, Italy and New York. Davalos has declared that she is more curse-ridden in French than in English. She is from Spanish as well as Finnish descent from her mother's side. Her family name could have been written "Davalos" in Spanish with an accent on the "a". Her paternal grandparents were of Vilnius, Lithuania. Although she was raised without much religion however, she did go to Hebrew school for a time. Davalos moved to New York City on her own at the age of seventeen years old. Davalos earned a living modeling for Peter Lindbergh photographers. "I had a mission," she recalls. "I was looking to be out in the world, doing what I wanted to do. While working in a theatre, I discovered that I was really drawn to be an actor." She went to the Off-Broadway Flea Theatre in New York, where her enthusiasm for acting quickly grew.
